The 2016 UT Digital Preservation Symposium will be held in Learning Commons, Perry Casteneda Library, University of Texas at Austin, on April 29th. The symposium seeks to bring together information technology professionals, archivists, curators, librarians, faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students and others willing to share their experiences and contribute their perspectives on digital preservation and long-term access.

The forum’s theme, “Intersections: Identifying Transformative Collaborations” builds on the 2015 symposium - which sought to raise visibility for digital preservation as a campus-wide issue by demonstrating the breadth of research efforts. These issues manifested in projects that either 1) address digital preservation issues head-on or 2) require digital preservation intervention themselves.

This year’s theme and venue were chosen to inspire a mix of facilitated discussion and hands-on engagement with digital preservation. The UT Digital Preservation Interest Group has organized a program that maintains broad representation AND increases the level of community engagement:
